It's time to wake up, witches. I'm your host, cat Adams, and I'm here to remind you that, no matter where you're at in life, you're not stuck. You Welcome, welcome, witches. How are you all doing? Are you all successful yet? And you were a lot of attraction Journey. Are you feeling more empowered, more hopeful, more ready for 2024, where you're going to grab life by the Vajayjay and Freakin? Take back your power, because that is the goal, because if you're listening this podcast, you know we're on this journey to Grow and feel empowered and feel like we are in control of our lives. Especially, especially, especially especially.
Speaker 1:This is for you women stuck in toxic relationships. But you know what everything I say. It applies to being stuck in all sorts of situations, like a sucky career or a sucky friendship doesn't have to be marriage or talking about your asshole boyfriend. You can use these concepts to get out of any situation you don't want to be in. Now, the last podcast I had since we're doing this little law of attraction type series throughout the end of the year, the last podcast I talked about was my luxurious bogey as fuck podcast, and I just have to admit I am still living the lux life because when this episode releases. So as I'm recording, this is still September, but when this episode releases it's october 2nd, which means drumroll y'all.
Speaker 1:My freaking book is available. That is the 20th book I've written, my first nonfiction. You're not stuck. The book is available today. Today is a launch day. It's a go baby. It is on amazon, apple barns and nobles cobo google. Go get your book on and Thank you for your support in advance.
Speaker 1:So if you're looking for a book that Is going to help you take exercises and steps toward Getting out of your toxic relationship, that's the book for you. If you know anyone who wants to get out of a toxic relationship, that's the book for them. Go ahead, gift it. It would make a great gift. Might I say so myself. I'm not biased or anything, but it's also a lot about and they are the ripple effect.
Speaker 1:So how, one person changing one person's life, that person spreads the news and change another person's life and we create a ripple effect. And that Is the goal with women like you. Break one woman out of her Toxic relationship. Just think of it this way. Think of it this way. There's so many bright Women who are unable to let their light shine Because they're under the control Of their asshole husband or they're stuck in this just toxic, horrible relationship and they can't use their skills and their Imagination and their creativity and they can't let their light shine Because their light has been broken and dimmed and we have to build them back up. Can you imagine the contributions they can make to this world If they're allowed to use those talents? But no, they're locked away in the house, having to, you know, be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen. I don't know. No, we need to help them because if they're allowed to come out and be their beautiful, bold selves, change in the world, then they're going to inspire more women to do the same and it goes to the ripple effect. And so that's what the book is about as well.
Speaker 1:I have to admit I didn't put much juju in there, so if you're looking for a woo-woo juju, it's coming. I do not currently have a book that is more witchy, because I don't want to scare people off and you're not stuck, because there's some people who aren't as witchy woo-woo juju, and if you're one of those people, what you're doing with your life? This is the fun stuff, y'all. So I didn't put much of it in that book, but, like I said stay tuned, it's coming. I have a second sequel, follow up to that book, hoping to start writing. Actually, I've done a little bit of writing for it and I really want to write something for younger girls too, like teenagers, and then I actually have a whole, so that you're not stuck.
Speaker 1:Series is, you're not stuck as book one. I have the book two. I need to start soon because I want to release that next year. And I do have a book three, final book wrap up, which will be straight up woo-woo juju. But I don't have time because y'all know I stay busy, so that's why I have not even started on that. But I can write a book when I have the time, in like two months. So once I do it and I commit to it like it'll be done I'm not sure when that's going to release. I do get the cover for it, though done in December. So that's like a kick in the pants. I have to do it if I got a cover right. So look forward to that. But first go grab. You're not stuck y'all. Oh, my gosh. Release station Nanagan.
Speaker 1:What am I up to on release day? Well, I am getting ready to go to Asheville, north Carolina. I've been there two, maybe three times. My husband and I, when we first went there we were like, okay, we got to move here because Asheville was more of our vibe. But then, you know, I got to get out of the South. We went out West and I was like, nope, I love Asheville, but I got to get out of the South. I don't love the state. I'm not a fan of North Carolina, not a fan of anywhere in the South. I can't be here anymore. So, as much as I love Asheville, it's going to remain a vacation spot for us, which is where we're going to celebrate, not only the book. That's like a side celebration. Now, you know what that was not a side celebration? It is going to go hand in hand with our anniversary celebration, not our wedding anniversary, but when we met. So that was the first anniversary we started celebrating. And when we did take our first anniversary, it was to Asheville. So we're going back there, I want to do some hiking and we're staying in this pretty luxurious resort.
Speaker 1:You may have heard about it, I think it's called the Omni, and I picked it because I was like I need a spa weekend and this place has, like this big old spa and a cave. And it's the spa that I've been looking for for a long time. We have nothing like it here. Like I want to go to a luxurious spa where I spend like half a day, I get my face done, my nails done, my toes done, I get massages, I get you know everything and anything. And I want to do that thing where it's like that hot oil is poured on your scalp continuously while you're getting massaged. Oh my gosh, memphis has nothing like that. Nothing like that. I cannot find one of these bougie as fuck spa places. So I found Omni and I was like, oh my gosh, that is it. I think that's what I've been looking for. I booked a hotel.
Speaker 1:My dumb ass did not book the spa at the same time and then when I went to go, try to book it like our spa day there, because you have to. You can't even go into the spa and use like their pools and hot tubs. When I went to go do that, they're like, oh, sold out. Every day we're going to be there Sold out. I was pissed. I was like, oh my gosh, I didn't know I had to book that in advance too. Like that far in advance. Like they're booked out like months and months and months in advance oh my gosh, whatever. But I found another place there and I think we're going to try to book some couples massages and, like I said, we're going to do the hiking and I want to go in some of Asheville's weird shops, like some curiosity and occult shops but also their artsy stuff, like I just love the vibe in Asheville. I love it so much fun.
Speaker 1:So I'm preparing to do that and I am just steel being in my comfy cozy zone, starting to turn in to the winter time. Where I turn in, I go with it because I am a very cyclical living person, which is what this podcast is about. So today we're going to talk about what that looks like cyclical living in seasons and in the moon phases Right, oh my gosh, I love talking about cyclical living with the moon and what I mean by that is like doing full moon and new moon rituals. But first let me start because I was just talking about this on expanding about cyclical living with the seasons and kind of how I do that in my life and how it's kind of organized my life to make me feel like I'm not on 24 seven. So cyclical living is basically like living within the rhythm and harmony of the earth and the seasons and nature, and taking in what's happening around you and applying that to your life. So you might be like, well, the hell are you talking about? I'm gonna break it down season by season and tell you some of the things I do and some practices that you can put into place. So I'm gonna start with the beginning of the year because that makes the most sense. So for spring, if you're gonna cyclical, live in harmony with the planet, nature, all things around you, you can change your mindset. So you're not on 24 seven. You know what seasons you need to do this and what seasons you need to do that and what seasons you get a rest, and yada, yada, yada.
Speaker 1:Spring what's spring about? If you think about it, spring is about growth. So in the spring is the best time to begin new projects. Rebirth and growth is basically what it's all about. So that's when things are starting to emerge. That's when you want to think about like you know even though I know New Year's Eve is not spring but that's when you're starting to get that energy to incorporate the things you wanna do to grow and reach those goals. Also, it's renewal, spring cleaning, detoxing, cleansing, embracing growth and new beginnings.
Speaker 1:It's time for planning and setting intentions for the year. So in spring, that's when you're gonna start putting these plans into place on where you wanna go, how you wanna reach your goals. You can also like get even deeper into it and change your whole kind of I'm gonna say lifestyle. But you can do stuff like changing your diet, eat stuff that is spring like, and I do this, I do it and I think everybody does this. I do it without thinking about it.
Speaker 1:But, like in the spring, I'm like man. I'm starting to crave greens. I'm starting to crave, like in the spring, I like asparagus and lemon or something like that, and it's like I don't want that year round. I don't know, maybe this is just me bringing too much into it, but my body wants those, like early spring vegetables In the spring. I don't know, maybe I'm like super, super in tune with Mother Nature, but I do look forward to spring because I'm a list maker. So that's when I start planning my entire year out. I start planning for my growth journey through the entire freaking year. I'm serious In January I get my calendar. Sometimes I even do this before January, I get my calendar and I write out everything, month by month, and all those goals like goals a week out goals months out goals at the end of the year, where I think I'm gonna be also usually do like my year yearly vision board then, and things like that. So in the spring I focus on that, because I'm not focusing on it all year long. If I was constantly having to make new goals throughout the year, that's tiring, that's too much. Don't do that to yourself. So save that shit for the spring.
Speaker 1:Now, in the summer, what does summer mean to you? Right, think about it. Time to spend outdoors in the sunshine, being active, being active on those goals, celebrating the peak of life's energy. So in the summertime, you're working towards all that stuff that you had set forth in the spring. It's time for your outward expression and fullness, where you're celebrating joy and abundance and you're having fun and you're again. Go deep into it. Man, eat some salads and shit like. Soak up that earth's energy with your diet on what's thriving now watermelons, tomatoes, cucumbers, I don't know, I do that too, I like every summer. I'm like man. I need a salad like at least several times a week, and that's probably just my body being like hey, look at you. And harmony with mother nature and shit. That's what you're supposed to be doing. And when I started doing this cyclical living stuff, I felt so much better. So much better because I look forward to my plan and phase and I look forward to my celebrating phase.
Speaker 1:Summers, like for vacations, it's for going outside and just like spending time with family, doing activities, hiking, like summer is summer fun, right? So think of it that way. Your summertime is when you are going to be celebrating all the shit you've been doing. It's going to kind of be your busy season. That's how I see it. Summer, summer's busy season, but it's fun. Like don't don't and I've made this mistake as what I'm saying it don't make summer like your too busy season, where you're not doing those celebrations for joy and abundance and everything you're accomplishing, even if you haven't accomplished it at this point and if you're doing the sickle goal living you're probably not going to accomplish your goals by now but celebrate just working towards them and celebrate the journey. So that's kind of what you can look forward to in the summertime.
Speaker 1:Now my favorite and I know a lot of y'all's favorite is autumn fall. What you're supposed to be doing in autumn fall, which is right now if you're listening to this one, it airs in october. Fall is all about winding down, engaging in activities that bring closure or completion of the years endeavors, and then you start turning in and that I love. That's why I've been doing all these like comfy, cozy things, because I'm starting to turn in, I'm starting to wind down, I'm being gentle to myself, I'm looking out for myself like I am, you know, preparing for the winter. You know, like germs and stuff. I'm a big germaphobe, if you did not know. So I'm going to be doing stuff like it in my flu shot and I think I'm going to try to make fire cider. I've never tried that, always want to do it. So that's on the agenda also, again, like going back to diet warm soups, stews, things that are, you know people crave in the when the weather cools pumpkin, spice, apples, grains it's all in tune with mother nature in this season and I think people just naturally gravitate towards those things anyways. So it's like it's in your dna, it's in it's in your genes to live this way. So, again, get comfy, cozy.
Speaker 1:Go listen to some of my previous podcasts about how to turn in during the season and make yourself a sanctuary, like I talked about. Doesn't have to be bougie as fuck, like I expanded on in my last podcast, but be prepared to turn in and embrace your introspection and gratitude and letting go. It is the time where you're going to start to reflect on your achievements and your challenges. But you're not completely settled in yet. Right, because you got one more left winter, huh, winter. If I struggle with it, because I like to be outside and I don't like to be holed up for three, four months, do nothing inside, but sometimes that happens in the summer here anyways in the south, because it's so freaking hot and miserable and you can't go outside. So it's like a catch-22, whatever. But I've started looking at it with a different mindset, so I look forward to the long rest I embrace stillness, patience and quiet.
Speaker 1:It's time for rest now and reflection and deep inner work. So if you need to do some deep inner work, what else are you gonna be doing? Usually, if you're holed up and it's cold or snowing or a blizzard outside, I mean, that's the perfect time to work on you. You're not gonna be out gallivanting around town, or maybe you are, I don't know. I live in the south. It like never snows here, so I don't know any of those snow sports. But I'm saying this is a perfect time to turn all the way in and work on yourself. Maybe you want to do some of that shadow work.
Speaker 1:Also, you need to pay attention to your mental health and keep moving. So invest in I don't know some exercise equipment that you can have at the house or watch some YouTube videos on Pilates or something. Whatever you have to do to keep moving. You do want to do that because, like I said, a lot of people dread this season and maybe it is because you're turning in fully and you're resting and then you're doing that shadow work and you're like, oh my gosh, I got a lot of shit going on in my mental arena that I need to fix. Like I'm a complete mess. Yeah, that's gonna affect your mental health. So make sure you're protecting your mental health during this phase and doing that exercise, doing your yoga, going back to your gratitude and get a therapist oh my gosh, get a therapist. Like that should be number one.
Speaker 1:Doing cozy indoor activities, journaling, reading, knitting just think of winter as the time for rest and rejuvenation. You've worked your ass off all year long. So winter time is when you're going to start taking care of yourself. It is okay to treat yourself anytime, but especially during this time, focusing on those warming foods, roasts, broths, stews, things you've preserved from all your spring gardening or your summer gardening. And also you know you can take this as far as you want in cyclical living.
Speaker 1:One thing I do and it kind of goes back to the bougie thing, but it doesn't have to be bougie is the scents. Like I fill my house with scents to reflect the season. So in wintertime that's like cedar burr, spring flowers, roses, lilies. Summer is more of a sunshine, clean, lemony, fresh scents. And fall, of course, is pumpkin and apple. You know I also it's like you're dressing not only dressing for the season, and like flannels right in the fall and shit like that. So you have your wardrobe for your seasons. So just think about this as your wardrobe for your mindset, your wardrobe for your inside self, and how that looks match it to the outside. So cozy flannels, pumpkin, spice bitch, also remind yourself. At that same time, my mind needs to be in that mood too. So I need to start letting go and winding down and embracing that comfy, cozy feeling.
Speaker 1:Like I said, there's so many options to cyclical living with the seasons. You can go as deep as you want into this Doesn't only have to be changing scents, changing diets, changing wardrobes. You can do all kinds of shit If you really want to get witchy in it. I'm sure there's plenty of like spell type things you could do as well that reflect on the seasons or take vacations during those seasons, if you're especially prone to like mental health issues in the winter and you just can't stand it and you can't embrace that. Hey, this is my rest in reflection phase.
Speaker 1:First of all, get out of the airpist and second of all, that's okay, go take a vacation. You know, maybe you need a sunny vacation or maybe you just need to change your mindset around your winter. Maybe you're wintering in somewhere that the winter isn't as fun like here. We'll take here, for example, and Memphis. We don't get much snow and I kind of want to see snow. So I've been thinking, man, I want to spend holidays in I think it's Leavenworth, washington, leavenworth, leavenworth, whatever it looks like the typical holiday, comfy, cozy town and I want to go there and I think I would have much more fun in my winter time if I was spending it in a different place like that, it might change my mindset even more on winter and what that could mean for me and how I am choosing to live my life.
Speaker 1:So that's what I got to talk about about living cyclically with the seasons, so you do not have to feel like rush, rush, rush, busy, busy, busy all year. Use this time to rest and reflect and not don't even plan. Do not plan at this phase. Don't plan and I'm saying this to myself because I'm always planning. Don't plan. You can look forward to next year, but don't plan. That time is coming too, which is why I've been doing this whole series at the end of the year, because I want you to be prepared for that time when you are making those plans. So right now, you should be working on yourself and getting into your gratitude season, where you are focusing on self and empowering and learning and then feeling good, raising your vibration. Right, that's what's all about raising your vibration for good vibes, because it's its own when we start our spring planning season.
Speaker 1:And speaking of, I have this app on my phone and it just gave me a warning. It's a moon app, alright, it's like 26 lunar day. Be careful today. Do not yield to the negative influence of others, do not fix aid on your problems and do not get involved in conflicts. Uh-oh, I have a dinner today that I've been dreading with some body.
Speaker 1:Lord Jesus, alright, this is the right time for me to start talking about living with the moon, and it's gonna be quick and dirty, because I'm already at 25 minutes in. Oh my gosh, she's are getting long. I could talk forever on these subjects, alright, so how do I cyclical live with the moon? Again, you can get super deep into this, or you can do it like I do, and I only do two moon things a month the new moon and the full moon, and what does that look like? I'm gonna go through all the phases, though, and let you know, so you can pick and choose what you want to do, and we're starting with my favorite, which is the new moon.
Speaker 1:I know a lot of people are like full moon, full moon rituals. I love those too, just because they're so beautiful, and I like to see the full moon, but new moon, for me, is where it's at. So the new moon represents new beginnings, rebirth and the fresh start of a cycle. It's time for setting intentions and starting new projects. So when you want to complete a goal and you want to set that goal, do it during the new moon. I just released my arcs last month during the new moon. I should have released my book on the new moon, but I didn't want to do that because I wanted it available for National Domestic Violence Month, so I wanted it to release today. But you can do things like that. When you're wanting to set new goals, set new intentions, focus on rebirth in a fresh start, you do that during the new moon.
Speaker 1:And personally, what I do my husband and I actually do this ritual together, because I do a new moon ritual and I do a full moon ritual and the new moon ritual is we do this meditation and I've talked about it before. It's my favorite. It's an abundance meditation. On YouTube I found we do that and then we are I pull our tarot cards for having a two card spread and it's like this is what's happening now and this is what you can look forward to during this new moon cycle. And oh my gosh, that's scary how spot on they've been. I don't know. I'm not saying I'm a psychic witch, but that shit is creepy. I guess I'm just like in tune with stuff during that time because it's super energetic for me. I love new moon cycles, super energetic for me.
Speaker 1:So we do the tarot thing and then we do a new moon bath ritual, which is basically just like I usually have some kind of herbal bath, salt stuff, mixture that we put in our bath and then we or sometimes we take a milk bath and we put our woo-woo juju stuff in there. You know like I'll have. I'm trying to think of something I've had, like, if we're focused on abundance or something financial, I usually have something from the witchy store that's like prosperity bath or something bath salt and or like one of those sachets filled with the herbs and stuff. We light a candle Sometimes it's just like a normal candle that I picked up that's like, oh, got abundance stuff written all over it. Or sometimes I do like the whole let's carve an intention in this candle and burn it and we really look forward to that time because we both get in the bathtub and relax and just have a good time and then we seal the deal with some hot sex.
Speaker 1:Moving on to the waxing moon the waxing moon is the period when the moon is growing larger in the sky. This phase is associated with growth, attraction and building things up, whether that's wealth, health or other forms of abundance Again. So think of it as the moon is building up. It's a waxing moon. You are building up, you set those intentions and now you're growing towards them. But oh wait, there's more. You got the full moon, which represents the height of power, manifestation and realization.
Speaker 1:Full moon rituals might involve charging tools, divination or spells for transformation. It's a time when energies are at their peak and it's also a time when you let go of something that's not serving you, and that's how I use most of my full moon energy. So when we're doing our full moon ritual, I do charge my crystal gel. I set all my crystals outside, charge it. I do the moon water thing, where I set water out and I usually drink it the next day. You can use it in, like you know, spell work if that's your thing, but it's basically soaking up all that good energy.
Speaker 1:But what I like to do is embrace that letting go part of something that's not serving you. So if I have like some kind of negative vibe or let's say, what can I use for an example? If I am struggling with self doubt. I will write that down on a piece of paper, write it on a bay leaf, whatever, and I burn it and that's why you see, like which is dancing around naked a fire under the full moon. They are happy because they're letting go of that shit that does not serve them. So if I know I need to let go of the self doubt or like fear of failure and I'm really struggling with that, I can set that as an intention and I can burn it and I can let it go and release it then Because that is the time when you are at your peak to do that. So that's kind of how I use the full moon ritual. And then again my husband and I we do a full moon bath same thing, same thing as new moon, just different intentions and then seal it up again with hot sex, moving on waning moon as the moon diminishes in size.
Speaker 1:This phase is linked to banishing, releasing and letting go of things that no longer serve one's highest good. Again it goes back to the full moon, but I kind of do all this on the full moon. You can do it when the moon is shrinking if you won't, but I like to do it on the full moon. So I'm going to do that. I'm going to do that. You can do it when the moon is shrinking if you won't, but I like to do it on the full moon because it's just more fun. But that's when you're going to do that inner work. So you can build, build, build and then let go, let go, let go, rest and reflect, and then some people celebrate the dark moon. So just before the new moon begins, the dark moon is a deep, is a time of deep introspection, rest and healing. It's also associated with divination and contacting the spirit realm. How cool is that? I've never messed with that. I don't know. That seems fun. Maybe I should try it.
Speaker 1:So that's just some of the moon work that you can do in your life to do the cyclical living thing. And you can even take it further to sync up with your menstrual cycle. Like some, a lot of y'all probably have menstrual cycles already synced up with the moon. I know mine is like within days of hitting usually around a full moon, but you can look into that too. There's books out there, oh I can't remember. There's one about living cyclically with the moon in your period. I'll try to figure out the name of that and put it in the show notes. But you can do many, many, many things when it comes to cyclical living, with the seasons, with the moons, so you don't feel like you have to do everything all at once and that's the whole point of it. Like, don't feel overwhelmed. No, there's a time to do this, there's a time to do that, so you can slow down. You have slowed down time, speaking of it's 32 minutes in, and I am sure you're tired now of hearing about cyclical living.
Speaker 1:Cyclical living, but it's a cool concept and it's one I live by and it's one I swear by because I feel so amazing when I put these practices into place and those rituals. Y'all is fun. It's fun. Get your ritual on, do it by yourself, do it with a friend, get a friend on board. If you like your husband, do it with your husband. If you're in a toxic relationship and hate your husband, I don't know, maybe you need to throw that name in the fire, I don't know. Well, just have fun with it. You don't have to take it serious.
Speaker 1:Try it, see if you like it and then start incorporating it, if you do, in your everyday life. It's not only fun, but it's a growing part of the journey. It's another tool in your toolbox for you to reach your goals and get where you want to go. So it's not even like a law of attraction thing, although you could use it, coinciding with the law of attraction. It's just a healthier way to live that I've found and I think it can help you too, especially if you are experiencing negativity and toxicity in a relationship, because this could bring you some comfort and knowing that you have the time to do the things you need to do and when you need to do those things. So if you're setting intentions on hey, I need to go contact a divorce lawyer, you need to check in with your lunar phase I would definitely definitely do it during those energetic moments. So food for thought.
Speaker 1:I hope you've enjoyed talking about seasons and moons and how I incorporate them in my life and maybe you can start incorporating them in your lives, because even if you don't believe in this mumbo jumbo, who-who-joo-joo, I truly feel like a lot of this is in our DNA, it's in our genes, and that's why I always say wake up witches. Because I truly feel like once you're in harmony with your true self in the atmosphere around you, it propels you further in life than you can imagine and you've got so much abundance, joy, happiness on the way because you're not stuck. Thank you so much for listening.
